Waigani Eliseo Supermarket is the biggest supermarket at Waigani. Previous the supermarket was operated TST Group of Companies but was sold to Eliseo Group of Companies. Eliseo group renovated the building and converted into a two floor shopping complex. It was opened in December 2021 under the Eliseo retail brand. The Eliseo Group of companies has several similar supermarkets under it’s retail chain of stores. These are ideally located in all the major sub urbans in the city.
The notable improvements include the complete change to the design. Previously it was single floor supermarket divided into two sections. Department store and supermarket. That was changed into two floor complex and offers a couple of other specialty shops as well with a modern interior designs and lighting.
The outside included colorful billboards for advertisement, sealed and fenced car part. The property is guarded by securities, making it secure for shoppers to park their vehicle while shopping.
First Floor of Eliseo Waigani Supermarket.
The main ground floor is the main retail grocery store. It has both retail and wholesale dry goods. It has a recent range of freezer goods such as ice-cream, frozen vegetables and local fresh produce. It also has a butcher section but its mainly beef, pork and chicken products with a limited type of seafood.
It also has the following sections
- Kind of a fast-food outlet with tables. Menu is mainly local vegetables, meat and chicken.
- Liquor Shop. Sells all kinds of wines and other liquor products.
- Sales Counter where shoppers can pay for mobile phone credit cards, buy Esi Pay Power credits, and Cigarettes.
Note: When you shop in the early morning, cash back at checkout is not allowed. Only during the day and in the evening, shoppers who shop can bank cards can be allowed cash back. It may change, so next time you shop there in the morning, ask the checkout staff if cash back is allowed.
Second Floor of Waigani Eliseo Supermarket
The second floor is the department store. It has a variety of items of items to sell. Kitchen items, kids toys, stationary items, clothes, beddings, home electrical appliances, shoes, handyman DIY tools and items and others.. It has a sewing materials section where mothers or anyone interested in sewing projects can get their materials and sewing related accessories.

- Tech Shops-There are two tech stores where they sell mainly mobile phones and accessories. They also have portable speakers
- Three (3) electronic back massage chairs. Shoppers can pay for slot for massage and it in for back massage.
- Barber Shop. Shoppers can get their haircuts and shave done. Unfortunately, it’s only for men and they don’t do hair for ladies. Current cost at time of post is K25.00 for haircut or shave and both is K50.00. Because of the location, it’s busy most of the days so be prepared to wait for at least an hour depending on the number of customers. They have two barbers only.
- Pharmacy-The pharmacy has only beauty and first first/home aid stuff. There is no prescription medicine counter. If you need get prescription medicine, and in the Waigani area, check Stop & Shop supermarket.
- Kids Play area. There is some slot machines for games and a children’s playground room. Mothers with kids who are tired can let the lets have fun and take a bit of relax time on the benches and watch the kids enjoy themselves in the kids playroom section.
- Photocopying and printing. If you need of making a photocopy or print a document, take your documents and just at the checkout area of the department store, there is a counter to print and copy documents.
- Vodaphone Booth-There is a Vodaphone phone booth with very limited items.
To sum, Waigani Eliseo shopping complex has all things covered. Also, carpark is secured and right next to the Waigani local market and police station, makes it one of the ideal supermarkets to shop. Just be mindful of the traffic in the Waigani area, particularly in the evenings. It can get jammed and have to wait to get into the shop and the Waigani Market Area. In the morning hours and during the days traffic is normal like in other parts of the city.
