
Telikom Rumana is one of the iconic and oldest landmark building in the capital city of Port Moresby. It is the Headquarters building of Papua New Guinea’s first and oldest state owned telecommunications company Telikom PNG. The build is a two floor building with the ground floor being used as reception and a Telikom Retail shop.
It is located right heart of Waigani area and can easily stands out. It is close to the National Parliament, the PNG Civil Registry Office, Government Printing Office, Sir Manasupe Building, Tisa Savings Loan Society, Tisa Bank Head office and a walking distance from the Vision City Shopping Centre.
The building symbolizes the resilience of Telikom PNG as company which continues to be in operations despite very disruptive competition by Digicel PNG and recently by Vodafone. As the country celebrates 50 years in 2025, Telikom is one of the old as the country itself.

If you happened to be around this building, here are some things you can do:
- There is street market where you can buy cooked lunch boxes, soft drinks, mobile phone cards, cigarettes and etc from the local vendors. This market serves as a lunch break hangout area for most of workers in the buildings near by including Telikom workers.
- At the ground floor, there is Telikom PNG retail shop where they attend provide customer counter services, mobile phones and accessories, and etc. If you are existing Telikom PNG mobile phone subscriber and have issues, this is more convenient.
- BSP ATM is located in front of the Retail Shop at the ground floor. If you are around the area and need cash, use this one. Next closed ATM is walking distance up to the Vision City Shopping Mall.
- Just next block is DFC fried chicken fast food outlet. DFC fast food chain operating many outlets in the city. Very similar to KFC fast food in other countries. If you want to have a restaurant meal, then drive a few meters down the main road (Somare Circuit Road) and stop at Kwalimu Hause, which hosts the popular Numundo Steak Haus-which servces premium local beef from the West New Britain. There is also a local vegetable market on the road between Kwalimu Haus and Telikom Rumana building.
- Teachers Savings and Loans Society (TISA) customer service center and National Civil Registry office for National ID Card and Birth Certificates are also located close to Telikom Ruman building.
Getting to Telikom Rumana
Getting around places in Port Moresby is bit of inconvenient as public bus service is not that reliable. So if you are new t othe city, the best bet is to get a taxi or if you prefer to use a public bus, go along with a local guide or relatives (wantoks as popularly known in TokPigin Langauge).
